Anthony Chavez, Head of the Google Privacy Sandbox Project, said, "We are proposing a policy of preference for users." that this feature will be rolled out to all Chrome users by the end of 2024.


"Instead of eliminating third-party cookies, we will give users the opportunity to opt-out at any time. We have also consulted with regulators about this," he said.


He added that users will now be given more control over browsing data, especially IP protection in Chrome, which will add privacy controls.


Google Chrome is the most used web browser worldwide and 63 percent of users prefer it for browsing.


Cookies in the form of small text files are stored on the user's phone and computer by websites during web browsing to understand his online behavior, according to which advertisements are displayed.


Safari, Firefox, Microsoft Edge and others have had a feature to block third-party cookies for a long time.


But now Google has refused to include it in Chrome.
