Japan's supermarket using AI toA Japanese grocery company has implemented artificial intelligence (AI) technology to gauge its staff members' smiles.
According to a South China Morning Post report, AEON, the nation's largest supermarket operator, introduced the "Mr. Smile" system with the goal of standardizing staff smiles and maximizing customer pleasure.
Over the course of three months, AEON tested the system in eight of its 240 locations with 3,400 employees. According to the experiment results, "service attitude improved by up to 1.6 times."
A first for the global retail sector, AEON revealed at the beginning of July that it has extended the usage of the smile-gauging AI system to all of its locations countrywide.
The Japanese technology business created the AI system.
